Make a Positive Difference

With your help, we can support seniors in our Sutherland Shire community to live happy and healthy independent lives.

Volunteering for Sutherland Food Services is a small commitment for a high reward. Our volunteers enjoy meeting our customers and making sure that they are safe and well each time they call.

If you are seeking to make a positive difference in your local community, meet like-minded people, challenge yourself, learn new skills and most importantly, add value to people’s lives, we strongly encourage you to join our team.

What does volunteering involve?

Many volunteer roles are available at Sutherland Food Services including:

  • Administration

  • Packing of meals

  • Meal delivery and support

Volunteers who provide meal delivery, support and companionship to clients are required to use their own car and a petrol reimbursement is provided.

How much time does
volunteering take?

Depending on the type of volunteering you are doing, anything from a couple of hours a month, to one or more full days a week – the choice is yours.

What training will I receive?

All volunteers are provided with full training through our online training module. Volunteers also receive an induction with our staff and are paired with an experienced volunteer to share their experience and advice.
